Working with multiple processors can be challenging, from updating policies to allocation and forecasting, and variation in processor-specific criteria. This presentation will discuss challenges, processes, and improvement opportunities between donor services, quality, and recovery departments to ensure the gift is maximized through collaborative partnerships.

Prior to entering the Tissue Banking World, I served eight years in the U.S. Army as a combat Medic, then worked 5 years in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Room. I started my journey in Tissue Donation in January 2006 as a Per Diem Tissue Recovery Technician. A year later, I became a Tissue Recovery Coordinator, becoming the Manager of Tissue Recovery for United Tissue Resources in 2012. In 2019, I moved on to Quality Assurance, becoming the Quality Systems Manager.

Donor Alliance

As the Regulatory Affairs Coordinator, Beth is responsible for interacting with all employees to promote continuous quality improvement.  She collaborates with Donor Alliance leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and legislative standards.  Beth works in conjunction with the tissue and organ work systems to facilitate quality improvement activities and effectively manages change related to organizational goals and industry standards.  Beth has over 10 years of experience in the organ, eye and tissue donation, which includes recovery experience, and 20 years of experience in Quality Systems.   She holds various Quality and industry certifications including Certified Tissue Banking Specialist, Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

Brandi Brewer

Manager of Donation Services

LifeShare of Oklahoma

Brandi Brewer has been involved in the tissue bank community since 2015. She currently serves as the Manager of Donation Services at LifeShare of Oklahoma and has been with LifeShare of Oklahoma since July of 2020. Prior to this, she served as a Client Services Associate at United Tissue Network, a non-transplant donation organization. She obtained her CTBS certification in 2020 shortly after beginning her role at LifeShare of Oklahoma. In her current position, Brandi provides leadership and training to the Donation Services staff offering guidance on tissue allocation, proper documentation techniques, and approach and authorization coaching enabling coordinators to speak confidently to donor families. She is passionate about continuous growth, education, and professional development for the individuals that she leads.

Brandi has earned an Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare Administration from Oklahoma State University. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Healthcare Management from Mid-America Christian University and upon completion, plans to pursue a Master of Legal Studies in Healthcare Law at the University of Oklahoma.
