During this presentation, AATB staff and project group leaders provided an overview and update on the progress of our restructuring of the AATB Standards in anticipation of the publication of the 15th Edition Standards for Transplant. AATB has been working, along with engaged volunteer project team members, in an initiative to thoroughly redesign the Standards for Tissue Banking to ensure they provide maximum clarity, utility, and value to users. Hear from AATB project leaders and the volunteers heading key working groups as they share more about the initiative’s goals, approach, and timelines.
Glenn Greenleaf, CTBS
Glenn has served as LifeCell’s Director of Tissue Services since 1994. He is responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining tissue procurement sources for LifeCell. Prior to joining LifeCell, Glenn was the Director of the Regional Tissue Bank at the University of California, San Diego and served on the staff of the UCSD Regional Burn Center. Receiving his CTBS in 1989. Glenn has been actively involved with the AATB since 1986. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors and on various committees.
Faith Case, MSQA, CTBS
Faith Case has served in the tissue bank industry since 2007 with a primary focus on quality systems. She is the Director of Quality Assurance, Risk & Safety at Regenerative Biologics, Inc. (formerly known as Southeast Tissue Alliance, SETA) a tissue recovery and acquisition agency in Gainesville Florida.
Faith has committed her career to continuous improvement, challenging the fundamental quality of people, processes, and products to achieve superior performance outcomes. She advocates creating cultures that promote continuous learning and process improvement. Recognizing and honoring the gift of donation, Faith is committed to maintaining the integrity of donors and raising awareness of the importance and benefit of donation.
Joel Osborne, BA, CTBS
Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation
Joel Osborne is currently the Vice President of Affairs with the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (“MTF”) and has been with MTF since 1990. Mr. Osborne is responsible for maintaining worldwide regulatory compliance. Mr. Osborne started his career with the American Red Cross and has worked in the field of tissue banking and blood banking for more than 40 years. He received a BA degree from Central Methodist College, Fayette Missouri, and is a Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) and a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (AATB). He has been a member of the AATB since 1983 and a CTBS for more than 25 years. Mr. Osborne has previously served on the AATB Board of Governor, and numerous AATB committees including, Chair of the AATB Standards Committee, Co-Chair of the Accredited Banks Council and Chair of the AATB Accreditation Committee. He currently a member of the AATB Standards Committee and the AATB Tissue Policy Group. In 2009, Mr. Osborne received the AATB Kenneth W Sell Memorial Award recognizing his contribution to the AATB.
Eduardo Nunes, MS

With over 20 years of experience in standards-setting and accreditation, Eduardo is a seasoned association executive with a proven track record of relationship and program management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. In his current project with AATB, Eduardo is working alongside the organization's leadership to reimagine and rebuild the Association's Standards Program. In his time as an association executive, Eduardo has published extensively on topics ranging from the use of quality management systems in the perioperative setting to how associations should approach the use of standards-setting in fulfilling their mission.
