Infinite Legacy
Sara joined Infinite Legacy in July of 2017 as a Tissue Family Services Coordinator III. In that role she worked directly with families by supporting them through their grief and donation process. She is an active member of the aftercare committee here at Infinite Legacy.
Sara came to Infinite Legacy with over 7 years of experience as a mental health social worker. She received her master’s in social work from the University of Maryland and went on to supervise bachelor level clinicians in a psychiatric rehabilitation program. Sara holds a license through the National Association of Social Workers as a License Clinical Social Worker Supervisor and has experience as a social worker working with adults and children diagnosed with serious mental illnesses. As a Family Services Coordinator III, Sara not only provides support to families, but is also a leader, trainer, and resource for the Tissue Family Service and Aftercare Teams.
Vicki Shoemake
Aftercare Coordinator
Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency
Vicki has been working in the donation field for over 16 years. She began her career in 2007, as a Family Care Specialist, inspired by families as they honor their loved one’s legacy giving hope to others through organ, tissue and eye donation. Vicki currently serves as the Aftercare Coordinator with MORA, where she is honored to continue support to donor families and recipients. She has served as leader to various Aftercare projects within the agency, recently designing MORA’s Donor In Spirit Medallion. She is the donor mother of daughter, Holland, who inspires her each and every day.
Susan Smith, MS
Grief Support and Employee Events Manager
With more than 25 years of experience in grief support, Susan has worked with children, adults, individuals, and families in a variety of settings to include 2 children’s hospitals, a grief support center, a hospice liaison, and currently as a tissue donor aftercare specialist. Susan joined the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center’s tissue services team in 2015 as the Grief Support Programs/Services Manager. She is responsible for overseeing the Grief Support & Life Legacies Program/Services for tissue donor families.
Susan has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology from the University of California at Davis, and a Masters of Science in Child Development/Child Life from the University of La Verne in California.
