AI systems are being used in nearly every industry, including organ, eye, and tissue donation. But how do these systems work, and what role do they play in maximizing the gift of donation? AI applications enhance donor referral and screening by identifying key areas needing further review and highlighting concerns that require human review. Parameters tailored to each program can detect out-of-range chart data and missing records and develop forecasting models to aid in allocating recovery efforts between various tissue processors. These tools allow donor program staff to focus their time on targeted reviews, find missing items, and make donor referral and screening more efficient.

This presentation will evaluate the indications for AI platforms in donor screening and referral management, examine use cases for various AI tools, and address data integrity and security.
