Microbiology, a Behind the Scenes Look (Individual)

This session will have a look behind the scenes of a tissue bank microbiology laboratory. Why do lab samples have to meet certain criteria for processing? Why are collection devices laboratory specific? Why is a specific size tissue sample required for testing? Why is lab sample shipping important? Why is there a time limit on the lab samples?

During this presentation, we will discuss microbiology test method validation regarding donor-related lab samples and environmental-type cultures. We will also do an overview of common microorganisms and methods for identification.
