This lightening round of info will cover the research on risk and resiliency factors in healthcare burnout, and participants will leave with 2 resources that can be implemented back in the office to help address this vital topic of burnout prevention, turnover, stress management, and sustain PEAK performance. Plus, the tools can be also be used for donor families, patients, or recipient families dealing with stress. Join Michelle for some good info, great tools, and hopefully, laughs.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify at least three risk factors and/or symptoms of compassion fatigue in patients/families and staff or caregivers
- Describe three resiliency factors and/or interventions to manage stress (& help patients/ families, staff or caregivers stay in PEAK Performance Zone)
- Utilize an assessment tool to assess stress levels and employ a stress-management worksheet to guide patients, their families or caregivers to management stress, prevent burnout and improve coping with stress, grief, or loss

Michelle A Post, MA, LMFT is an AATB Board of Governer & Chair of Donor Family Service Council. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and life & business coach in private practice in Los Angeles, CA. She has specialized in grief, loss, trauma, suicide prevention and stress management since 2000. In 2007 when she joined OneLegacy, Michelle further focused her grief and loss specialty with donor families, and her burnout-prevention training and teaching within high-stress & healthcare environments. Michelle left OneLegacy in 2019 to launch her own international coaching business to help others online, through self-care destination retreats, and she travels to teach and consult. She also writes a monthly blog and has several books that will be published this year - including "Help Me Understand... A guide to help children understand hospitals, death, and organ, cornea, and tissue donation. She also consults with & is a trainer for the Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center. Michelle uses transparency, admits to personal imperfections, and practices what she preaches to continue her own personal & professional growth.
