Learning Objectives:
1. The learner will be able to explain the basic outline of the NEDS L&D Screening Tool.
2. The learner will be able to summarize reasons for creating and utilizing a screening tool.
3. The learner will be able to list the benefits of using an L&D screening tool.
4. The learner will be able to conclude whether or not a similar tool would be applicable in their own OPO or Tissue Recovery Organization.

Joshua Brennan, CTBS
Director, Tissue Operations
New England Donor Services, Inc.
Josh Brennan spent six years as an EMS professional and was an educator for the Red Cross. Josh has been with New England Donor Services since 2008 in various roles in the Tissue Operations Department. He is currently the Director of Tissue Operations. He has published three abstract articles with the American Association of Tissue Banks and was part of the creative development team for the Hopes Heroes - Donor Family Program. He has been invited to speak at multiple workshops/conferences/webinars on various topics, including Electronic Tissue Authorization, Call Center Scheduling, Algorithmic Tissue Screening, Electronic Tissue Allocation, DRAI competency & training, and Grief Concepts. Josh is currently serving on the AATB Education Committee and was the project co-manager on the development of the Sepsis Education Online Learning Tool for the RADE Council.

Kim Ross
Kim has been with New England Donor Services for 19 years and currently serves as the primary liaison between NEDS and 13 assigned hospitals in the role of Hospital Relations Coordinator. During her time at NEDS, Kim has completed medical screenings with hospital staff, talked with families about donation, worked as part of the organ recovery team, and managed the NEDS Operation Center. Kim is certified by the American Association of Tissue Banks as a Tissue Bank Specialist.
