Miles Lanning, CQA (ASQ)

I graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Economics and  began my career in the medical industry as a Paramedic in the Denver metropolitan area. Since 2004, I have worked in Quality Assurance with Belle Bonfils Memorial Blood Center, Laboratories At  Bonfils/LABS, Inc., and VRL Eurofins.  I have implemented and maintained quality systems adhering to FDA, ISO, AATB,  TGA, CLIA, and CAP. I have also developed professional relationships with organizations in the  tissue and organ industry, leading to a greater understanding of the quality needs and expectations of  VRL Eurofins' clients and partners.

    Understanding the requirements and purpose of vendor qualification, especially for vendors performing critical processes in the screening and/or manufacturing of your products is crucial for delivering quality and safe products to recipients. Participants will gain insight from the points of view of both vendor and tissue bank so participants can better evaluate their own vendor qualification programs. Focus will also be given to the necessity of a strong Quality Agreement to provide regulatory compliance assurances when mutually agreed to by both parties, promoting a solid and communicative partnership.
