There are three achievement awards given annually by AATB to outstanding individuals in the field of tissue banking: the Jeanne C. Mowe Distinguished Service Award, the George W. Hyatt Memorial Award, and the Kenneth W. Sell Memorial Award. This year's deserving individuals will accept their awards at the 2021 AATB Annual Meeting.
PAMELA ALBERT
NEW ENGLAND DONOR SERVICES
Pamela Albert is the 2021 recipient of the Jeanne C. Mowe Distinguished Service Award.
Throughout Pam's career, she has been an active member of AATB, where she has and continues to participate and share best practices for donor family services. Pam has contributed to countless processes and programs utilized in donor family aftercare, hospital relations, and tissue operations. She is a true pioneer in donor family care, having created one of the first OPO donor family programs designed to support the donor family during and after the donation process. She is also one of the original authors of Guidance Document 4, Providing Service to Tissue Donor Families.
About the Jeanne C. Mowe Distinguished Service Award
The Jeanne C. Mowe Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution in tissue banking or transplantation, whether in research, education, or laboratory improvement, or who has served the Association or the field of tissue banking. This individual has demonstrated leadership qualities and a consistent willingness to lend his/her expertise to the Association and his/her peers.
DR. MICHAEL BAUER
MJB AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
Dr. Michael Bauer is the 2021 recipient of the George W. Hyatt Memorial Award.
Dr. Michael Bauer has displayed a superior commitment to research, teaching, and service in the field of tissue banking and transplantation. He consistently takes time to provide education for AATB, individual tissue establishments, and individuals who have questions. Not only is he knowledgeable in tissue requirements, but he is also versed in ISO, CAP, CLIA, and state regulations, serving as medical and tissue bank director for a variety of organizations. Dr. Bauer's vast knowledge base, approachability, and unreserved kindness allow him to exemplify how helping others can progress an industry.
About the George W. Hyatt Memorial Award
The George W. Hyatt Memorial Award is given annually to an outstanding individual scientist who has demonstrated superior research, teaching, and service abilities in the field(s) of tissue banking, tissue transplantation, or transplantation medicine.
GLENN GREENLEAF

Glenn Greenleaf is the 2021 recipient of the Kenneth W. Sell Memorial Award.
Glenn has made significant contributions to the field of tissue banking. With a tissue banking career spanning nearly 40 years, he has actively participated in the development of tissue banking standards, the inspection and accreditation of tissue banks, and the education and certification of tissue banking personal. Glenn has been involved in various AATB councils and committees, was one of the original peer AATB inspectors, has presented for numerous AATB education programs, and is currently serving on the AATB Board of Governors. Glenn is recognized internationally as a tissue banking subject matter expert and has mentored and advised many tissue banking professionals throughout his career.
About the Kenneth W. Sell Memorial Award
The Kenneth W. Sell Memorial Award is given annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of tissue banking standards, the inspection and accreditation of tissue banks, and/or the education and certification of tissue banking personnel to ensure the quality, safety and availability of cells and tissue for transplantation.
