We would like to welcome you to join the AATB Living Donor Council and contribute your expertise and experience to the entire association membership on matters related to the living donor tissue.  The mission of the Living Donor Council is to provide tissue banks and AATB membership with industry knowledge and best practices related to tissues recovered, acquired, collected, tested, screened, stored or distributed from living donors (e.g. reproductive and birth tissue or neonatal donors), and to develop and provide the resources needed to support safety, clinical performance, quality requirements, and continued industry growth, of tissue(s) recovered from living donors for clinical application.

Activities & Areas of Focus/Interest include (but are not limited to):
Involvement in relevant AATB task forces, committees & activities focusing on areas such to foster education and research and promote quality and safety in cell and tissue banking.  The Council further endeavors to provide representative industry leadership and subject matter expertise necessary for the Association to advise on certain aspects of donation and clinical use unique to living donors, such as the implied unique ethical and social implications of living donation, infectious disease screening approach and use of genetic data.

Development and support of educational opportunities for the AATB Membership. This includes recommendation of speakers for the AATB sponsored meetings, webinars and special events, participation directly or through your council in recommending changes to Standards and best practices related to Living Donor Tissue.
